Need Some Help?
Here are some helpful tips. If you don't find what you need, please let me know by sending feedback (you'll first need to log in).
Domino Numbers
Every domino has a unique number. The number before the dash ("-") corresponds to the Topple, and the number after the dash is the Domino serial number. Together they create a one-of-a-kind number.
Domino Status
Each domino has a "status" and it reflects what's currently known about the domino. This is a work in progress and still a little confusing. But, it's the best we have for now:
STANDING: If a domino is "standing" that means it's waiting to be tipped. It's has been registered, but is not currently in motion.
TIPPING: This means someone has passed on the domino, but it hasn't yet been claimed by someone. Dominos are sometimes passed on anonymously, and the new party never claims it, so the domino is stuck in tipping mode. This is sometimes called teatering.
PENDING_CLAIM: Once a domino has been cliamed by the new owner, it needs to be approved by the previous owner.
FLOATING: A domino is considered floating when it has been claimed by someone, the claim has been approved, but the new user hasn't created an account to there's no "screen name" associated with it. In other words, it doesn't have a registered/known owner, but it's out in the wild. The owner will always be listed as "anonymous" because there's no user name to assocaiate with it.
Getting an Account
I'm limiting the number of accounts for now. If you have a domino we will definitely get you an account. Either way, feel free to request an account and you'll either get a registration code right away or you'll be notified when the site is ready for more users.
Making Friends
The are lots of ways to connect with your friends. In most places where someone's screen name is provided, a link is provided for their public profile page. From that page you can request a friendship form the "actions" box on the right hand side. When you request a friendship the person is notified by email and must vist accept the friendship before you officially becoming friends. There currently aren't any special features for friends, but there will be later.
Registering a Domino
When a domino is passed from one person to another, it needs to be registered/claimed by the new owner. This can be done a few ways:
- Use the 'Register' option on the Home Page
- From the Action List provided on the your My Topples page
- From the profile page for a specific domino (in the Action List)
Domino Theory Terms
A handful of terms have been conceived to help explain the Domino Theory analogy. This list is kept up-to-date on the blog site.
